There’s no time like the present to spruce up your dining room design for a fresh, creative look.
Many homeowners might think the only way to accomplish this is with new furniture, but sometimes it’s changing the less obvious objects that can make the biggest impact.
Here are two character-adding ideas to help change up your dining room design:
- Lighting – The light fixtures that come standard in homes nowadays leave a lot to be desired. The contractor isn’t thinking about making a statement at your dinner party; he or she just wants to light the space. And even if you currently have a beautiful chandelier hanging over your table, selecting a different style and changing it out can be just the touch to revitalize the space.
- Artwork – Framed paintings of fruit bowls or Tuscan landscapes dotting your dining room walls? If so, take them down and get creative. Capture you and your family’s personality with abstract works or turn landscape photos from your last major trip into framed beauties. Art doesn’t have be in a frame either — sculptures, metalwork and other mediums provide countless opportunities to freshen up the dining room and offer conversation starters as well.
