Position: Junior Designer
Stephanie Kratz Interiors pairs our passion for beautiful interiors with today’s styles to create a luxurious feeling to your space.
We are looking for a Junior Designer to continue to bring that passion to our team and to our client dreams, making them come to life. As a Junior Designer, you will be working directly with the Lead Designer – Stephanie Kratz. This position is full time and would require travel to and from design locations and vendors.
We are interviewing for this position immediately with a (flexible) start date or as soon as possible.
Essential Job Functions and Key Tasks
Meet with clients and contractors with Principal Designer
Take Detailed Notes at Client Meetings and put into Google Docs
Take Photos at Client Meetings and put into Google Docs
Brainstorming with Principal Designer on Projects
Space Planning and detail drawings in CAD (i.e. cabinet drawings, tile elevations, furniture placement to scale)
Create 3D visuals in Sketchup or other approved programs
Sourcing for Design Plan
Present Sourced Ideas for Design Plan to Principal Designer
Create / Prepare for presentations for client meetings
Order swatches / memos / samples for presentations
Create swatch layouts for presentations
Assist at Client Presentations – take detailed notes
Follow Up (adjustments and task lists) for Client Projects after presentations and meetings
Order and pick up samples when needed
Pick up items at local vendors
Send Request for Quote (RFQ) as needed
Send Requests to workroom for estimates
Check stock and pricing for items
Meet with Vendors about client projects
Attend Monthly Vendor Days in the Studio
Return samples to resource room as needed
Occasional help in cleaning up / organizing the resource room and office space
Keep up with time billing throughout the day
Enter time billing at end of each day
Assist Project Manager as needed
Required Technical Skills & Experience
4-year Interior Design degree from an accredited college or university oR 3-5 years of experience in the Interior Design industry with a focus on residential interiors
Proficiency with AUTO-CAD, Sketchup, Google Suite, and Photoshop
Proficiency with Studio Designer Program is not required but favorable
